When the Space Colony Side 7 is attacked by by Zeon, a young civilian boy named Amuro Ray finds himself behind the controls the the EFSF prototype mobile suit weapon known as, the Gundam. Amuro and the young crew on board the EFSF battleship the "White Base" must escape Side 7 before Zeon's Ace Pilot Char Azanable, a.k.a. The Red Comet, destroys them.
