Waiting for a new appointment with Volto Nascosto for the fate of his friend Vittorio, Hugo stops at a block of the Italian garrison, where the war wounded are admitted. The commander of the outpost is slave of a jealousy obsession for his ethiopian concubine. In his view, Ugo has made an impression on her, and is therefore a dangerous rival to eliminate.
