Previously produced in 1978 by Brown Watson and in 1979 and 1980 by Grandreams, between 1981 and 1983 Stafford Pemberton published three tie-in annuals for the ITV show The Professionals, before losing the license to Purnell for what proved to be the final volume in 1984.
